Monthly Giving -

Help Children by joining our Partners for Child Welfare.

Serve Destitute Children, Unleash Potential

Donor Opportunity

With your help, World Foundation for Asia will continue to meet the growing needs of children in Asia by reaching out to hundreds of children and their parents with nutrition support. With your help, caring volunteers will deliver vitamins to new mothers, implement programs such as prenatal care and newborn training, administer life-saving immunizations to young children, and build schools and train teachers so that even more children have a chance for a better future. In the United States, your gifts can help us reach destitute children living below the poverty line with literacy and nutrition programs. Monthly, quarterly or annual gifts can sustain programs like these and so much more.

You decide how much to give on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis -- as little as $5 each month. After you make your initial donation, future gifts will be made automatically at the giving cycle you select. Please help today.

To thank you for becoming a Partner for Children, you may receive a hand-crafted thank you card made by destitute Cambodian women who use much of the proceeds of their artisan work to send their children to school and afford basic healthcare.

If you prefer, rather than completing the online form below, you may instead complete our printable donation form and mail it to WFA.

Trusts and Foundations -

Donations from trusts and foundations are crucial to the ongoing development and success of our work. We expect that half of our income will come from trusts and foundations in the USA and overseas. Their generous support enables us to address the root causes of poverty and bring about lasting improvement in some of the poorest regions of the world.

Some trusts will choose to support our general fund. This income is extremely valuable as it enables us to direct our resources to the projects of greatest need and priority. We recognize that some trusts prefer to support specific project work, and our fundraising team is able to work with individual trusts to find appropriate projects that match their funding criteria.

We are always keen to develop relationships with new trusts and foundations. If you are a trustee or have links with a trust or foundation that shares our aims, we would be happy to hear from you. Please contact the

Fundraising Team  1-888-815-5406  to find out more.

Donate Stock -

Gifts of Stock/Securities

The donation of appreciated property, particularly publicly traded stock, is a sensible and tax advantageous way to make a charitable gift. Some donors choose to contribute appreciated securities rather than write a check from current income to support World Foundation for Asia.

Why? When you make a gift of appreciated securities, you avoid paying capital-gains tax on the appreciation and you receive an income tax deduction based on the full fair market value of the gift. Your charitable deduction for federal income tax purposes is based on the fair market value of the stock on the date the gift is made and the "the cost" of the gift is your cost basis. If you sold the stock and gifted the proceeds, you would have to pay tax on the gain and therefore drive up the "cost" of the gift.

*Please note: Tax situations vary. World Foundation for Asia recommends that you speak with your tax advisor before making a gift of stock.

If you are interested in making a gift of stock to World Foundation for Asia, please contact the Fundraising Team at 1-888-815-5406 to find out more. - and please contact our office for instructions.  Phone:1-888-815-5406  email:fundraising@wfasia.org

Planned Giving -

Today it is important that we build resources that will assure the sustained vitality of World Foundation for Asia’s work in the United States and around the world. Establishing a planned gift today will enable World Foundation for Asia to provide critical services to children living in poverty for generations to come.

Planned giving options can easily integrate a charitable gift into a donor’s overall financial, tax and estate planning objectives. Making a gift using one of these plans can maximize benefits to both the donor and World Foundation for Asia. Planned gifts typically come from a donor’s assets rather than income, and these gifts can be either outright or deferred.

It is highly recommended that donors consult with their own tax or legal advisors prior to making a planned gift.

You may contact Prehlad Sharma at 1-888-815-5406 to obtain specific information on planned giving opportunities at World Foundation for Asia. You may also send an email to
plannedgifts@wfasia.org   Our mailing address is: Office of Planned Giving, World Foundation for Asia, 1661 Massachusetts Ave, PO Box 553, Lexington, MA 02420-0553.

Endow a Memorial Fund -

You can establish a living memorial endowment fund if you want to do any of the following:

  • Make a contribution in honor of an individual, family or cause that will continue to honor this person in perpetuity;
  • Create a living legacy for the benefit of children in need;
  • Support the general charitable mission of World Foundation for Asia or of a particular program or country; AND
  • Obtain an income tax deduction when the fund is established.

Make a charitable gift to World Foundation for Asia in honor of an important person in your life or to establish a family tradition of giving over the years. Earnings can be used for World Foundation for Asia's mission or for a specific program of your choice. You receive an annual report on performance and finances, and your contribution is tax-deductible. Please contact the Office of Planned Giving at
1-888-815-5406
to discuss details and gift minimums.

Example:
The “Om Radsady Endowment Fund” is a wonderful example of a living legacy. The fund was originally established to pay for child sponsorships. Today, after many years of consistent giving by the Cambodian community (in Boston, United States, Cambodia?), the fund has grown in size so that it pays the costs of more than a dozen sponsorships each year. Each year this number increases as the fund grows and people continue to make regular contributions in honor of Om Radsady.

Legacies  -

The sources of poverty often extend back in years, if not decades or centuries. Most of the world’s poorest areas are in developing countries. The poverty in these places is  long-lasting and will take years to alleviate.

By including World Foundation for Asia in your will, you will be making a valuable contribution to the welfare of children by enabling us to continue supporting communities affected or threatened by poverty. Your legacy will help us build a happy future for children and their families recovering from homelessness and abuse.

Why make a will?

Making a will makes things easier for those tending to your affairs after your passing away, and it ensures that, after all the relatives and friends you love are provided for, your legacy can also contribute to the causes that are closest to your concerns. Leaving a gift in your will ensures that your commitment will live on.

How to leave a legacy gift.

You can leave a gift to World Foundation for Asia in your will in three ways:

   •  A residuary legacy (all or part of the net value of your estate)

   •  A pecuniary legacy (a specific sum of money)

   •  A specific legacy (a particular item of value, such as jewelry, property or shares)

Whatever you leave, however large or small, will help to foster a happy world where children can grow and reach their potentials.

We recommend that you consult an attorney before making or amending your will. He or she will be able to ensure that your will is legally valid.

Many real estate holdings have appreciated greatly in recent years and may be subject to capital gains taxes if sold. Donation of real estate directly to World Foundation for Asia or through the use of a charitable remainder trust often minimizes these taxes and generally provides an income tax deduction.
